Tenneco introduced its oval-shaped gasoline particulate filter design at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show . The filters are designed for gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines to reduce particulate emissions in compliance with the Euro 6c emissions regulations, which take effect on 1 September 2017.
